ACHTERGROND INFORMATIE
Classic
Teck Voon NG
In order to provide dancers with a sound training Teck Voon Ng has incorporated elements of yoga, tai-chi and different coordinations to stimulate greater body awareness while building up strength and flexibility in the muscles. The exercises tend to be very musical with logical coordination of arms and upper body movement at the same time keeping a strong sense of connection to the ‘centre.’ Elements of ‘release’ helps to sustain the flow of energy while avoiding unwanted tension in the joints, lower back and neck. The class finishes with a series of jumps combination freeing the body into space encouraging dancers to make individual choices.
Teck has taught at various companies, schools and institution ie; Productiehuis Brabant, United-C Eindhoven, Station Zuid Tilburg, Theaterschool Amsterdam, Korzo Theater Den Haag, Cirque du Soleil and various workshop in South East Asia!
Besides teaching Teck is still an active dancer and choreograph. His work has been presented at Julidans Amsterdam, Colour Dance Muiderpoorttheater Amsterdam, Nationale Reisopera and festivals in South East Asia. He has danced with companies like Northern Ballet Theatre(England), Heidelberg State Theater(Germany), Djazzex Dance Company and Reflex Dance Company(The Netherlands). In opera productions he has assisted choreographers like Amir Hosseinpour, Lucinda Childs and Lucy Burge while collaborating with directors like Pierre Audi, Peter Sellars and Stephen Langridge.
Ida Keizer

She also works as a rehearsal director at Dance Works Rotterdam. Her class emphasizes musicality, a strong barre and a dancy center.
Norio Mamiya
danced with Béjarts Ballet du Xxième Siècle, Scapino Ballet and others. He worked as a balletmaster and company teacher for Reflex and Co. in Groningen and is a guest teacher with Raz and Dance Works Rotterdam as well as with different groups in the Netherlands and in his native Japan. He also travels goes to Japan regularly to work as a choreographer. His ballet class is characterized by a dynamic and organic approach and is therefore a training that truly ‘dances’.
Modern
Cristina Planas Leitão
This class is a development of Zambrano’s ‘Flying-Low’ applying the same original principles. The technique mainly focuses on the dancers relationship with the floor/ground/earth. It utilizes simple movement patterns that involve breathing, speed and the release of energy throughout the body in order to activate the relationship between the centre and the joints, moving in and out of the ground more efficiently by maintaining a centred state. The material challenges each participant to discover the primary laws of physics: cohesion and expansion.
Cristina has been working with Gabriella Maiorino as a dancer and choreography assistant/ rehearsal director in Amsterdam since 2006 and has participated in all her creations since then.
She has also worked with David Zambrano during an intensive period and gained the teaching qualifications for “Flying-Low” and “Passing through”, which she is since then integrating in her own artistic work and teaching practice.
Miquel de Jong
born in the late summer of 1971 in Den Haag.
Studied from the time he was ten at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag and graduated in 1989. His dance career started with Scapino Ballet Rotterdam (lead by Nils Christe and later Ed Wubbe) where he danced for six years in various works.
In 1996 he went on to work with companies in other countries, dancing with the Opera Nationale de Lyon, lead by Yougos Loukos, where he worked with renowned choreographers such as William Forsythe, Jiri Kylian, Mats Ek and Ohad Naharin. Later Miquel worked with Ballet Preljocaj (Angelin Preljocaj) en Russell Maliphant Company in London where he discovered diverse movement styles and techniques such as contact improvisation, yoga, capoeira, tai chi en acrobatics.
