Dansateliers

Dansateliers, situated in the center of Rotterdam, is a professional dance workplace, a laboratory for research and development. Its doors are open to beginning choreographers as well as experienced makers.

In our studios, dance makers get the chance to do research projects, develop a personal signature, to work with artists from other disciplines and participate in a dialogue with an audience. Studio presentations show the uniquely personal approach of dance makers, varying from thought-provoking and playful to intense and daring.

Since the organization was founded 15 years ago, the doors at Dansateliers is open to dance makers, dancers, dance students, dance teachers, dance lovers, dance experts and dance critics. For everyone who, like ourselves, who believes in the ongoing development of dance.

Thanks to new subsidy pledges from the City of Rotterdam and the Ministry of Culture for 2009-2012, Dansateliers will be able to offer a small number of talented dance makers the opportunity to develop professional dance productions. Through coaching, financial and production support and promotion, we help choreographers along a path from the studio to the stage.
